How you'll get to contribute

As the first HR person in the company, you’ll fill a key expertise gap to support our growth, but this isn’t your typical stuffy HR role. We’re looking for someone to help us improve employee experience, foster a positive culture, and identify areas that need attention, ensuring a smooth, people-first approach to hiring, benefits, communication, and overall team development.

What you’ll get to do

  • Ensure seamless integration of new hires, accurate employee records, proper benefits enrollment, employee satisfaction, team development, and compliance by organizing and leading insurance meetings, maintaining updated records, handling payroll and reporting, and addressing questions or concerns.

  • Foster a more knowledgeable and motivated team by organizing and executing companywide and small group meetings and building relationships in the field to strengthen trust and collaboration between employees and the office.

  • Help create a fun and supportive work environment where team unity, pride, and morale thrive by driving engagement, managing company swag inventory, and being the down-to-earth, protective go-to who looks out for everyone and makes sure all feel valued and taken care of.
  • Grow our workforce by expanding community engagement, scheduling and coordinating job fairs, screening applicants, and supporting the creation of a high school scholarship program

About you

  • You have experience with basic HR functions, including hiring & onboarding, benefits & compensation, training & performance management, employee relations & engagement, HR compliance & policy, community involvement & employer brand, health/safety & well-being
  • People wonder how you wound up in HR because you don't fit the stereotype. You're easy-going, flexible, have a sense of humor, and love helping others. You're all about the people and relationship side of it. And, you're not afraid to get your boots dirty out in the field to build relationships!

Even better, but not required if

  • You have knowledge of/experience with Viewpoint/Spectrum construction HR/ERP software
  • You're bilingual in Spanish
